New England Patriots Super Bowl Champs

Patriots Plan Post Gronkowski

The Patriots will be playing the next few weeks or longer without their star tight end Rob Gronkowski. How will this impact the rest of the season?

You can’t replace a Rob Gronkowski. You can’t replace his production. It will hurt the Patriots. They will miss his presences in the redzone. But the most important position on the team is the QB. As long as Tom Brady is healthy the Patriots are fine. If you took this team and had a bad QB playing on it I assure you the production and wins would not be there. Even if a bad QB had Gronkowski it would help but not much. Its about the guy throwing the ball. Brady is a great QB. He has won with lesser talent to throw too then the current one he has. Brady took one of the worst defenses to the Superbowl with Gronkowski hurt and almost won. Brady will win the games no matter who he is throwing too.

Thankfully for the Patriots they are not lacking on fire power. Wes Welker is still there and still causes problems for the opposing team. He is still moving the chains for the Patriots successfully. The emergence of Julian Edelman will certainly help New England. Brandon Lloyd the “deep threat” is still there and can certainly contribute to this team and he will need to be a better redzone option for Tom Brady. Brandon Lloyd to me is the one who needs to step up the most with the absent of Gronkowski. Lloyd will need to play big going against the Jets on turkey day.

The Patriots did sign a boat load of tight ends this season. That will now come in handy. Aaron Hernandez who should play Thursday will be big for New England to get back. He is a great tight end and weapon for Brady. He is great in the passing game so that part Herenandez will help with in the place of Gronkowski being out. The others like Visanthe Shiancoe can help in the passing game too. He is a pretty good weapon and Brady can make him look even better. He can help in the blocking as well. For the pass protection and run game. There is also Michael Hoomanawanui.  The last pass he caught was against the Rams. It went for 18 yards. So he can catch. He can also block very well. The Patriots may have to use these tight ends in different ways  One to do all the blocking the other to be the weapon in the passing game. Unlike last season this season the Patriots are not short on tight end weapons. They also having a running game too. The defense is playing better and if they can keep that up it might not force Brady into 30 points a game either. But as long as Brady is healthy the Patriots are still one of the teams to beat and they will be just fine and will keep on winning.
