New England Patriots Super Bowl Champs

Preview Colts vs Patriots

The Colts are riding high heading into Foxborough. Boasting the same record as the New England Patriots.  All week long you have been hearing about the Colts passing game and the weak Patriots pass defense. You been hearing about the young gun vs the old master. When the other QB is being talked about more then Tom Brady then Tom Brady usually plays one of his best games to send a statement he is still the best. Brady has been hearing plenty about Andrew Luck. Tom Brady has been hearing all week long about the offense’s inability to close out and ice close games. He’s been hearing all week even though the Patriots won just how mediocre this team currently is. He has been hearing all week about the other team and not much about his own. Tom Brady isn’t being consider a MVP candidate at all. Tom Brady still being clutch has been called into question. His team hasn’t been mention as the best team in the NFL instead its been flip flopping between Denver, Houston, 49ners, and the Atlanta Falcons. When Tom Brady gets angry and wants to make a statement that usually means bad news for the other team. The better the offense the better the defense.

Brady should out gun Andrew Luck in this game. I look for Brady to pick on ex Patriot Darius Butler a lot in this game. Which means look out for Brandon Lloyd in this game. Brady will end up having more passing yards and touchdowns then Andrew Luck in the game. Brady might get to connect deep to Lloyd in this one if not maybe a touchdown or two for Lloyd. Since Branch is cut Lloyd should increase his snaps and performance even more in this game. The Patriots really want Lloyd deep and to get Lloyd the ball more and they will connect on all those phases at some point this season. Against the Colts that may happen.

Rob Gronkowski is the Patriots best weapon in the redzone. He should increase his touchdown total in this game. Its clear Brady is back to looking for his tight end in the endzone again. Gronkowski is a bad matchup for anyone he faces with his height and size. Gronk is a great redzone threat. Brady will continue to look for the massive tight end.

The defense oh boy oh boy. What is the defense going to do in this game? Will they allow the Colt’s Andrew Luck to continue his impressive rookie campaign? Or will New England’s defense finally step up and put their big boy defensive pants on and contain a passing game? With the addition to Talib if he plays a lot in this game will change a lot of things for this defense. For the better. Talib’s presence offers New England the chance to add safety help with the rookie Dennard because Talib can play man to man. And hopefully New England will quit dropping linebackers into cover. Kyle Arrington as bad as he is at corner is better to cover the tight end then the linebackers or a running back. These Patriots linebackers have to be the worst in coverage I have ever watched. It is that bad. Whoever plays strong safety I’m guessing Gregory please do good for once! If not look for Elam in the draft to make that spot better for next season. How about blitzing in this game? The Patriots are not getting consistent pass rushing with only four linemen. Must blitz to really be effective. I want to see that Belichick genius on defense on display in this game. I don’t want to see New England make another rookie QB look good. With Talib I think the Patriots have a better pass defense performance. I think the offense will be rolling and that will make the defense play better and this Colts offense really isn’t as explosive as everybody seems to be making it. The Patriots defense should look better and stand tall and do good and win the game. Hopefully it won’t be on the line though and its a dominant performance by the Patriots.
