New England Patriots Super Bowl Champs

Patriots vs Bills Preview

The things I’m expecting to see in Sunday’s match up between the Bills vs Patriots game is a lot of points scored by the New England Patriots. The 1st ranked offense is squaring off against the 31st ranked defense of the Buffalo Bills. The Bills allow a lot points through the air and ground. I expect both parts of the Patriots well oiled offensive machine to have a great game.

Brandon Lloyd has seen increasing time since the game against the Seahawks. He was thrown deep to multiple times in the Jets game and scored twice vs the Rams. Every week the Patriots keep getting Lloyd more involved in the passing game and in the red zone. I expect this week’s game to be no different. I expect the Patriots to go deep once or twice to Lloyd in this game and get him in the end zone for another score. I think Lloyd will have a good game vs the Bills who have allowed a lot of touchdowns to wide outs this season.

Rob Gronkowski had a big game vs the Rams. Adding two more touchdowns in that game. Gronkowski is still the Patriots best red zone threat and the Patriots in the red zone will look to get him the ball. Gronkowski might be able to get over a 100 yards receiving in this game vs the Bills and get in the end zone at least once. I’m expecting a decent yardage game and at least a touchdown.

Wes Welker might eclipse the 100 yard mark again this season. I think the wide outs will have a huge game against the Bills. Welker will move the chains for New England a lot in this game to the tune of another dominating performance vs the Bills.

Stevan Ridley will have another good game vs the Bills. Ridley was sensational in their first meeting with Buffalo. He will do good on the ground again and get the end zone. Ridley is a solid back and the Bills have had a hard time stopping the run this season. I don’t expect him to pass the 100 yard rushing mark in this game though. Along with Ridley I expect Shane Vereen to have a nice game as well. Close to the goal line at the one or five yard line Vereen may be ask to carry in a touchdown himself in this game.

The defense of New England gave up a lot of yards and points to the Bills in the last meeting. The defense should have a better game though this time around.  McCourty should be at safety for this game. He has to be for this secondary to even be a tad bit better. McCourty is a much better safety player then at corner and he helps the secondary to play better from that position. They had a much better day vs the Rams with McCourty at safety. The Patriots defense may give up yardages in this game but I expect most of it will be because of the Bills having to play catch up with New England.  The Patriots defense will be able to make the Bills one dimensional in this game by taking away the running game. Spikes should be all over the running backs in this game. He had an outstanding game the last time they played. He forced two fumbles in that game. He will be a key to stopping the Bills running game which I think New England will do. I expect there to be turnovers in this game. Not as many as the last time they played each other but I expect the Bills to turn it over at least once. I think Fitzpatrick will throw an interception in this game. The last time the Bills were 53% efficient on third down. The Patriots defense needs to lower that number this time around to ensure a dominate victory and not a close call game. The key for the Patriots defense to be successful is getting off the field. The more they can get off the field and get the ball back to Tom Brady the better off they are and the whole Patriots team is better off too.
