Week 10 Predictions

Week 10 is upon us and the NFL is serving up some mega match ups this weekend. Here are my week 10 predictions.

Indianapolis Colts vs Jacksonville Jaguars: Winner Colts. 24-10

In tonight’s Thursday night football game on the NFL network Andrew Luck is leading his team into division foe Jacksonville with a winning record against Blaine Gabbert’s lowly Jaguars who are desperate for a win.  The Jaguars have the leagues worst offense along with one of the worst defenses. The Colts are coming off a huge win against the Miami Dolphins where Andrew Luck was impressive. Andrew Luck and T.Y. Hilton had a great game against the Dolphins and Wayne is always a threat. Luck should have plenty of time to get the ball out to his receivers against Jacksonville. The Colts are on a roll and hitting on all cylinders right now and Jacksonville doesn’t have enough to get a win.

Oakland Raiders vs Baltimore Ravens: Winner Ravens. 28-17

The Raiders will go to the air against the Ravens who have been allowing a lot yards via the passing game. Carson Palmer should put up good passing numbers but he hasn’t been the best at decision making and should turn it over a few times against the Ravens to allow Baltimore to pull away with the win. The Raiders have an awful defense. Flacco should have a good game and put up solid numbers and I look for Torrey Smith to have a huge game to help the Ravens with a victory.

Denver Broncos vs Carolina Panthers: Winner Broncos. 31-14

Cam Newton hasn’t been having a great season. They played the 31st ranked pass defense last Sunday and manage to get a win vs the Redskins. The Broncos pass defense is better and more aggressive. If Newton can use his legs and get big yardages with his feet they could keep the game close. If Cam can’t run and has to throw a lot then they have no chance to out duel Peyton Manning.

New York Giants vs Cincinnati Bengals: Winner Giants. 24-17

This game has a chance to be close. The Giants defense will allow big plays if Dalton is giving enough time to stand in the pocket. A.J. Green could have a good day if his QB has time to throw of course. The difference in this game is I don’t trust Dalton or the Bengals to make the plays to win like I trust the Giants too.

Tennessee Titans vs Miami Dolphins: Winner Dolphins. 20-13

The Dolphins haven’t been a very bad team this season. They been playing very surprisingly. Their defense has been solid and their offense has been good enough behind Reggie Bush and solid performances of Ryan Tannehill. The Dolphins over all are a better team then the Titans and it’s a home game. I don’t think Jake Locker will score enough on this defense to win the game.

Detroit Lions vs Minnesota Vikings: Winner Lions. 35-17

Any chance the Vikings will have will be put on Peterson’s shoulders. Ponder has been bad here recently. Very bad actually. The Vikings haven’t shown they can move the ball. The Lions can. Based on that I expect the Lions to win easily. Although 35 points may be a strentch but all it takes is Stafford to get on a roll.

Buffalo Bills vs New England Patriots: Winner Patriots. 49-17

The 1st ranked offense of New England vs the 31st ranked defense of the Bills. I like Tom Brady and the Patriots offense’s chances in this game to score a lot of points whether its through the ground or air. The Patriots defense should get turnovers. I expect with McCourty at safety the Patriots defense to not give up much points to the Bills offense. If Talib was playing I really would like this 17 points to hold up but I think the Bills will make to many mistakes to stay in the game.

Atlanta Falcons vs New Orleans Saints: Winner Saints. 42-38

I know the Falcons are undefeated and the Saints have one of the worst defenses ever. But the Saints are at home and their offense is good enough to keep pace with Matt Ryan’s offense and great weapons at wide receivers. I expect the Falcons and the weapons Matty “ice” has to have good numbers against this secondary but if the Saints defense can get just a stop or two I think Drew Brees will make sure his team gets the win.

San Diego Chargers vs Tampa Bay Buccaneers: Winner Buccaneers. 31-21

I don’t trust the Chargers. They beat the Chiefs but after all its the Chiefs and everybody here lately has been beating them. The Bucs secondary may not be very good but Rivers has been making more bad decisions then good. The Chargers also lack weapons. The Bucs on the other hand on offense are oozing with weapons right now. Vincent Jackson and Mike Williams have become quiet the pair for Josh Freeman. They can be threats deep and in the red zone. Of course Doug Martin has had monstrous games in his past two games. With the four of them the Bucs should get this win.

New York Jets vs Seattle Seahawks: Winner Seahawks 20-10

The Jets have a very bad offense. The Jets offense is ranked 27th in the league. The Seahawks defense is ranked 4th in the league. Seattle is a tough place to play at. The formula for beating the Jets is simple. Don’t turn the ball over against them. If you don’t the Jets offense can’t move the ball up the field consistently enough to beat most teams in the league. If you turn the ball over though the Jets are good at making you pay for it. The Seahawks offense don’t turn the ball over in this game then they should win with a little distant because the Jets shouldn’t be able to score. I expect Lynch to have a huge game against the 29th ranked rush defense of the jets. If Wilson plays smart ball he should get another home victory.

Dallas Cowboys vs Philadelphia Eagles: Winner Cowboys 27-10

The Cowboys and Eagles are playing each other this weekend so somebody has to win. The Cowboys defense is good enough to keep the Eagles offense in check especially since the Eagles have a hard time protecting Vick. Ware should love this match up.

St. Louis Rams vs San Francisco 49ners: Winner 49ners 21-10

The 49ners will dominate this game on both sides of the ball. I expect them to control the clock and the game and run a lot and score enough to win. The Rams will have a hard time protecting Bradford in this game. The Rams offense hasn’t been putting up points and they have to put up points in order to win this game but against this defense they will be lucky to score a touchdown.

Houston Texans vs Chicago Bears: Winner Bears 20-13

Talk about a huge match up. Two of the best defenses will be squaring off at Solider’s Field in prime time. The Bears have hard time protecting Cutler and that really worries me in picking the Bears. The Texans are great at pass rushing. If somehow the Bears could allow Cutler enough time to throw the Texans can be vulnerable. Cutler has to make good decisions as well. The difference in this game is I don’t trust Schaub. I don’t count him as an elite QB. If they can’t run and it is on his shoulders I think they lose more then they win. If the Texans can’t run Sunday night I don’t think they win.

Kansas City Chiefs vs Pittsburgh Steelers: Winner Steelers 28-3

Is anybody picking the Chiefs? Why would anyone asides from die hard Chiefs fans. The Steelers are back to Steelers form. Winning, and playing good defense. This shouldn’t be a close game although anything can happen in football. The Steelers should pass and run their way to another win.
