LG Logan Mankins Back at Practice; Gronkowski Sits Out

Patriots left guard Logan Mankins returned to practice today after missing a week with a hip injury, and Dont’a Hightower practiced after injuring his hamstring Sunday.

However, tight end Rob Gronkowski (hip), tight end Aaron Hernandez (ankle), safety Steve Gregory, Michael Hoomanawanui and wide receiver Julian Edelman (ankle) did not participate. Gregory and Hoomanawanui were out for unknown reasons.

Hernandez walked through the locker room earlier today. Gronkowski spoke to the media, which is an indication that he’s really just resting the injury. Gregory was also spotted in the locker room for a brief moment.

Defensive lineman Brandon Deaderick (ankle) also returned after missing two of three sessions last week, as well as the Bills game.

The Patriots added tight end Alex Silvestro to the practice squad today, which makes more sense after they went through practice without three of their tight ends.
