Pats and First-Round Pick DE Jones Come to Terms

The Patriots have come to terms with first-round pick Chandler Jones.

Jones signed a four-year deal with an option for a fifth year, as is customary for first-round picks under the terms of the collective bargaining agreement.

New England had to move up six spots to pickup Jones, who they hope will be a solid every-down pass rusher.

Jones, 6-5, 266, had 10 sacks at Syracuse and was a three-year starter for the Orange. He’s listed as a defensive end, but Belichick said in April that Jones will also play outside linebacker when the Patriots align in a 3-4 front.
