Patriots Ink WR Deion Branch

The Patriots have agreed to terms on a one-year contract with free agent wide receiver Deion Branch, ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

Financial terms were not disclosed.

A full-time starter in 2011, Branch caught 51 passes for 702 yards and five touchdowns, finishing fourth in each category behind Wes Welker and tight ends Rob Gronkowski and Aaron Hernandez in all three major receiving categories.

Branch added eight receptions for 148 yards and a touchdown in three playoff games.

A 2002 second round pick out of Louisville, Branch has 312 receptions for 4,152 yards and 24 touchdowns in his 79-game career with the Patriots. Branch spent four-plus seasons with the Seattle Seahawks, where he caught 190 passes for 2,347 yards and 15 touchdowns before he was traded back to New England in 2010.
