WR Mike Wallace – A Must Have for the Patriots in 2012

Is Mike Wallace worth giving up a first round draft pick?

Absolutely yes!

The Patriots must get Wallace. They have two first round draft picks and you won’t draft a WR in the draft of Wallace’s talent at pick 27th and 31st.

The Patriots need a deep threat badly. It was never more evident of that then in the final two games of the season. It use to be the only way to stop the Patriots was to sack and get after Tom Brady all game long. If you didn’t Brady would throw it deep to Moss or get it out quick to go to guy Wes Welker.

Unfortunately that season in the biggest game the Giants did just that and the defense let the Patriots hope down on the final minutes. This time around against the Ravens and Giants Tom Brady was not sacked much and he had time to throw for most of each games especially against the Giants. The defenses covered Welker and the biggest target, TE Rob Gronkowski, and with no threat of going deep it was suddenly a easier offense to stop.

In those two games the Patriots scored a total of four touchdowns. That is a scary stat for me.

The Patriots had one of the best offensive lines in the NFL this past season. Imagine the final score if they had Wallace on the team in the big game against a Giants team who was generating no pass rush for most of the game?

I like our chances of a win and larger margin win at that. Wallace not only gives the Patriots a deep threat he benefits the talented tight ends of the Patriots and Welker.

Can you imagine the tight ends and Welker being even better? Its a scary thought for the rest of the NFL. Wallace is a must have for the Patriots to pick up.

He’s the kind of player who is worth the pay and the first round pick. He is more then worth it. I think the Patriots need to be aggressive because Brady is not getting any younger, and he’s is in his prime and you want to win as many titles as you can before the HOF QB retires.

Wallace is a sure way to do just that. I will leave you with this final thought, Welker, Gronkowski, Hernandez, and Wallace being thrown to by Brady.
Imagine that.
