According to Liz Mullen of the Sports Business Journal, the Patriots have approached wide receiver Chad Ochocinco about restructuring his contract.
The wide out, who says he’s going back to his original name for 2012 – Chad Johnson, is due a base salary of $3 million in 2012 and 2013, which is a hefty amount for a six-time Pro Bowler who had career lows of 15 receptions, 276 yards and one touchdown last season.
It’s likely that he will accept the move to stay with the Pats, but even at that, it doesn’t mean for sure he’s even going to be on the roster in 2012.
