Pats Ink DE Eric Moore

The Patriots have re-signed defensive end Eric Moore, Monique Walker of The Boston Globe reports.

To make room for Moore, the Patriots have placed second-year defensive end Jermaine Cunningham on injured reserve with a hamstring injury that had him doubtful for tomorrow’s game against the Washington Redskins.

A second-round pick out of Florida, Cunnningham started 11 of 15 games as a rookie, totaling 34 tackles and a quarterback sack. In nine games in a reserve role this season, Cunningham has one tackle.

Moore had a four-game stint, including three starts, with the Patriots during the 2010 regular season, recording 14 tackles and a pair of quarterback sacks. Moore had two tackles in a post-season start, but was released as part of the team’s roster cuts in early September.

Moore had been with the UFL’s Virginia Destroyers.
