The Patriots signed veteran defensive back Nate Jones one day after cutting cornerback Phillip Adams. Jones is in his eight NFL season. Jones, 29, has played with Dallas, Miami and Denver.
He originally entered the NFL as a seventh-round draft pick by Dallas (205th overall) out of Rutgers in 2004. Jones, 5-10, 185 pounds, has played in 101 games with 10 starts and has 163 total tackles, six sacks, three interceptions and 59 special teams tackles.
