Mankins Inks; Will Earn $10.51 Million in 2011

The Patriots have announced they have signed offensive guard Logan Mankins to a one-year contract. As the Patriots’ franchise player, Mankins will play for $10.51 million this season. He’ll go after the long-term deal he has coveted next offseason while making more this season than he had in his previous six years combined.

Pats Say So Long to Seven Players; Ink Mallett and Cannon

The Patriots on Friday announced the release of seven players: LB Tully Banta-Cain, CB Tony Carter, TE Alge Crumpler, T Nick Kaczur, DL Marcus Stroud, DL Ty Warren and rookie free agent LB Ryan Coulson from Nevada. The team also announced the signing of third-round pick Ryan Mallett and five-round pick Marcus Cannon.

Pats Release DL Marcus Stroud

The Patriots, a few hours after making a deal for Albert Haynesworth, have released defensive lineman Marcus Stroud. The mistake signing cost New England a $150,000 signing bonus.
