Patriots-Lions Fourth Quarter Thoughts

* Pats offense starting to wear down the Lions, as Brady is making better decisions and there’s another – a TD to Branch that gives the Pats the 31-24 lead.

* Good series on defense for the Pats, as a couple penalties on the Lions offense stops their drive, as a pass interference and facemask helps the Pats get the ball back.

* Brady escapes for a first down, but it’s coming back via penalty after a hold.

* Brady has moved ahead of Phil Simms (33,462) into 22nd place on the all-time passing yardage list.

* A little trickery on third down converts for the Pats, as a direct snap to Danny Woodhead pays off with a first down.

* That was a drive teams that win close games make, and the Pats were able to take advantage of Lions mistakes and got some big pass plays to make it a 14-point game.

* Brady’s line after the TD to Welker – 21 of 27 for 341 yards, 4 TDs, 0 Ints for a 158.3 passer rating.

* Another pick, as McCourty makes his second of the day to put the nail in the Lions coffin.

* Seven straight Thanksgiving Day losses for perennially bad Lions, maybe there should be a rotation of all NFL teams to play on this day.

* Brady still yelling at the D despite being up three touchdowns and about 2 minutes to play. Settle down Tom!

    WStar treatment by coach, not the league. Yea, it is a strategy that can benefit you but there must be a reason it’s not rampant across the league, as every team has a talent. It may be that most don’t do it because it sends a message of individuality.
