Patriots come away with huge win

Just a quick one here today folks. The pats absolutely dominated the Steelers last night on both sides of the ball. If you were to look at the box score, you might think that the game was close, but the fact of the matter was that Pittsburgh didn’t show up to play and the Pats definitely did.

Some positives for the Patriots:

-Tom Brady and the passing game. Watching Brady carve through the Steelers secondary last night reminded me of 2007. All night, it appeared that he had no problems finding Welker on a short slant or Branch on a corner route. He made it look easy last night.

-Gronkowski had a huge bounce back game catching 3 TD’s. I like what the Pats did here, getting Gronk involved early and often. I think they realized if you take the benching approach like they did to Darius Butler, the confidence of the player goes right out the window.

-Patrick Chung was back and had a strong game. In my mind, he may be the biggest difference maker on the Pats-D next to Vince Wilfork. He was slow getting up on a few plays, but finished playing the game which was a positive.

Some negatives for the Patriots:

-Shayne Graham missed a PAT. The kicked looked shaky, especially after missing the PAT. Hopefully it was just Heinz Field…

-Defense against Wallace. I realize they were playing softer and softer as their lead got bigger and bigger, but I was surprised they didn’t double cover Wallace, especially with Hines Ward out of the game.

-Aaron Hernandez had a very quiet game. I wouldn’t worry too much about this, as the pats gameplan can incorporate either him or Gronk and still be successful. I think it was just a case of the pats coaches feeling that Gronk matched up better against the Steelers Defense than Hernandez did,

Colts fan here. Damn the Pats are looking good again. Look forward to the matchup this week and obviously hope Colts win, but big props on the dismantling of the Steelers. Brady is the man!
