Welker shares his feelings on the trade of Moss

The Boston Herald says that Wes Welker in speaking to the media today was a little taken back by the trade of Randy Moss yesterday, and that Moss was a guy giving pep talks in the locker room:

Patriots WR Wes Welker spoke today about his feelings regarding the trade of Randy Moss, saying he was “somewhat surprised” and noting that Moss “obviously brought a deep presence” that the team will deal without.

But Welker was most revealing when discussing the fact that Moss asked out of New England after Week 1. It’s fair to say Welker was stung. And he didn’t hold back on his feelings.

“I think that was kind of the difficult thing,” Welker said, “because he was always the guy giving pep talks before the game, after the game and not knowing that he was wanting to get traded the whole time was a little bit disappointing, but at the same time, he’s doing what’s best for him, it’s a business, you just gotta roll with it.”

Was it your understanding he wanted to be traded? “I don’t know, you’d have to ask Randy or Coach Belichick,” Welker said, “because I’m not exactly positive, but that’s the rumors I’ve heard, same as you all.“
