WR Welker Takes Part in Full Pad Team Drills

Mike Weiss of ESPN Boston reports that Wes Welker took part in full pad drills on Thursday, another good sign for the wide out:

New England Patriots wide receiver Wes Welker participated in full-pads, full-team drills for the first time on Thursday morning. The Patriots have not had live tackling through 14 training camp practices but Welker did absorb his first contact via two hits from linebacker Jerod Mayo. Welker tore his ACL in January in the Patriots’ regular season finale against the Houston Texans. His status for the team’s season opener on Sept. 12 is still unknown.
