New England Patriots Super Bowl Champs

Cole: Pats LB’s Ranked 22nd Overall in the NFL

Jason Cole at Yahoo Sports! has another ranking out, and this time it is the NFL’s LB’s, and at the 22nd spot they have the Pats:

22. New England: If you want to know why the Patriots have slipped on defense the past two years, look no further than who lines up at linebacker these days. New England has gone from players like Mike Vrabel, Tedy Bruschi and Willie McGinest (who also played end) to Jerod Mayo (who’s a very good player), Tully Banta-Cain, Gary Guyton and Pierre Woods. Mayo better stay healthy and improve because he’s the only one of that lot with great upside. Rookie outside linebacker Jermaine Cunningham was overshadowed at the University of Florida, but he’s the best young prospect the team has for an edge spot.
