Welker Placed on IR After Knee Injury Sunday in Houston

The injury to wide receiver Wes Welker was a huge blow on Sunday in the loss to the Texans, and now becuase of it the wide out has been placed on injured reserve. The Patriots made the move today, three days after Welker suffered a serious left knee injury in the first quarter of their 34-27 loss at the Houston. Welker led the NFL with 123 receptions, a club record.

The Patriots also have signed linebacker Thomas Williams from the practice squad, added wide receivers Nick Moore and Robert Ortiz to the practice squad, and placed wide receiver Darnell Jenkins on the practice squad/injured list with an ankle injury.

    Please tell your coach to stop the whinning about the Texans’ field. He is making your team look like a bunch of cry babies. My respect for the Patriots was lowered after all the whinning from your knucklehead coach who decided to play the starters. He is not man enough to take blame for his decision and badmouths our stadium as an excuse.
