After further review – to coin a phrase – of a roughing the passer penalty that took place during Monday night’s game between the Buffalo Bills and New England Patriots, the National Football League has opted to fine Patriots linebacker Adalius Thomas $5,000.
Thomas was fined because he wrapped up Bills quarterback Trent Edwards before taking him to the ground; he has already received notification from the league that he was going to be fined. As is usually the case in instances such as this, Thomas has said that he will appeal the fine, adding:
“I’ll appeal it and just go from there. I don’t know, either you got to have a fast whistle or the guy is going to get taken to the ground. I didn’t think I slammed him to the ground, nothing like that.”
