
Perhaps it is a calculated risk, but the New England Patriots will apparently go into the regular season with only two quarterbacks as they waived Andrew Walter, according to an NFL source Friday.
With this transaction, it means that for the short-term future, rookie QB Brian Hoyer will be the backup to Tom Brady. Again, it remains to be seen as to whether the Patriots decide to trade for or sign a QB from the waiver wire.
