Green Says Preseason Stats Mean Something in the End

Sounds like Jarvis Green is spending a little too much time worrying about preseason stats these days:

Who cares about statistics in the preseason? Jarvis Green and the rest of the Patriots defense, that’s who. The first-team defense has held opponents without a touchdown in its past nine preseason possessions, but there is room for improvement. As evidence, Green pointed out the club is 29th in stopping the run. The Pats have allowed 144.5 yards per game and 4.7 per carry. “We haven’t been (stopping the run),” Green said. “It doesn’t matter if it’s first, second or third string. We all play together. Those stats show what our team is doing together. When we’re (nearly) last, we’re all (nearly) last.”
