Pats Ready to Say Good-Bye to TE Ben Watson?

The Boston Herald reports that the Pats could be saying so long to tight end Ben Watson:

Benjamin Watson has a lot of competition at tight end in New England, and his time with the Patriots could be winding down. Watson returned to the practice field on Monday for the first time in nine days. The sixth-year tight end is in the final year of his contract. “I’d like to see every player on the field,” Patriots coach Bill Belichick said, according to the Boston Herald. “We’d like to see (Watson) out there. I really don’t think it matters what any of us did last year, or any other year. We’re into a new season, and that goes for everyone … guys that were on this team last year, guys that were on another team. We’re starting a new process. We all need to get ourselves ready to do our job during the season. That encompasses the whole team. Nobody is exempt from that.”
