Pro Football Weekly is reporting that the Pats have officially announced the signing of six of their 12 draft picks:
When it rains, it pours. With training camp set to open next week, the Patriots announced that they signed six of their 12 rookie draftees on Thursday. Those six include NT Ron Brace (second round), OT Sebastian Vollmer (2), WR Brandon Tate (3), OL George Bussey (5), DL Myron Pryor (6) and WR Julian Edelman (7). Contract terms were not disclosed.
Brace figures to be leaned on the most. A space-eating nose tackle out of Boston College, he enters camp as the favorite to win the backup job to star NT Vince Wilfork, who is considering a holdout if progress isn’t made toward a new deal.
Edelman, a quarterback at Kent State, drew praise throughout the spring for his quick absorption of the scheme. He could be a surprise contributor in New England this fall.
