Second-Round Pick DT Ron Brace Comes to Terms

Scout.com reports that the Pats have inked 2nd Round Pick Ron Brace:

The New England Patriots have agreed to contract terms with second-round pick DT Ron Brace, his agent, Nate Haber, announced via his Twitter page.

The former Boston College University defensive lineman will sign a four-year deal worth $2.82 million in guarantees.

Because of the uncertainty of starting NT Vince Wilfork’s future of the team since he’s currently on the last year of his contract, Brace could be the future starter at that position.

There was some thought that Brace, who had a terrific set of practices during Senior Bowl week, would be selected high as late in the first round, perhaps by the Indianapolis Colts.

In other team news, seventh-round pick WR Julian Edelman has agreed to four-year, $1.7987 million deal, Scout.com has confirmed. The news of the agreement was first reported by the Boston Globe.

According to a team source, Edelman was quite possibly the most impressive rookie during OTA practices. The source noted that Edelman did a good job of catching the ball away from his body and also did a nice job of coming back to the football on shorter passes.
