Rookie WR Tate Likely to Start Year on PUP List
Rookie wide receiver Brandon Tate is likely to start the 2009 campaign on the PUP list as he is recovering from October knee surgery on his ACL and MCL, according to the Boston Globe. If healthy, Tate would not see much action in the Patriots’ aerial attack while fighting for playing time behind Randy Moss, Wes Welker and Joey Galloway. His impact as a rookie should be limited to special teams as a return man.

I am fine with that, this kid is a long term project. Let him learn behind the likes of Randy and Joey, let him see the leadership of Tom, Teddy, let the coaches work their magic. He is unbelievable talent. Hopefully his knee heals up fine and he can contribute in the future. The team doesn’t really have any immediate needs at WR.
