Patriots Sign Safety McGowan, Update on Injured LB McKenzie
The Pats have done it again, as they have made another signing of a player that can come in and make a hefty impact on the 2009 season. The club inked former Bears safety Brandon McGowan, who was on the open market after being a starer last season before he tore his knee up.
McGowan does nothing more than what the Pats do best – go out and find a player that can be a diamond in the rough, a player that does not have the flashy name, but can come in and play, and likely will play well.
That won’t be the last roster move, as the team very well may go out and look for a player to take the place of injured rookie LB Tyrone McKenzie, a third-round choice who suffered a leg injury during last weekend’s minicamp. John Clayton of ESPN reports that the injury may be serious. If that is the case, the Patriots will be on the look out for linebacker help.
