Yates Comes Back to the Team w/ a One-Year Deal

The Pats released O-lineman Billy Yates a couple days ago, but is back on with the team, as he resigned with the club on Friday. He had been let go Tuesday, but right away there was talk he would be back.

Yates, 28, has spent the last five seasons with the Patriots, playing in 25 games with 10 starts. The 6-2, 305-pounder started the first seven games of last season at right guard.

The new deal was for one year and a more cap-friendly salary. Yates, a key reserve at both guard and center, enters his sixth season with the club
