Patriots defensive end Richard Seymour will undergo minor finger surgery Friday in Boston to fix a lingering issue that he played through all season, according to a source. Seymour is coming off a bounce-back season with the Pats in which he matched his career high with eight sacks. His success came on the heels of three injury-marred seasons that left some wondering if the five-time Pro Bowler was washed up. Seymour answered those questions definitively despite playing in pain all year with the finger injury, the exact nature of which was not disclosed. Seymour missed the season finale after injuring his back against the Cardinals in Week 16, but was otherwise durable, playing through pain to record 51 tackles.
