The Providence Journal is reporting that the Pats have signed veteran offensive lineman John Welbourn. The 32-year-old is a veteran of nine NFL seasons with the Philadelphia Eagles (1999-2003) and Kansas City Chiefs (2004-07), and can help out on a line that is always looking for help after their meltdown last season that in the end cost them their perfect season in the Super Bowl loss to the Giants. To make room for Welbourn, the team released undrafted rookie defensive lineman Chris Norwell.
