On the first day of training camp, the Patriots came to a contract agreement with first-round draft pick Jerod Mayo. Multiple reports place the value of the former Tennessee lineman’s deal at 18.9-million-dollars with 13.8-million guaranteed. Mayo, the 10th overall pick in April’s draft, recorded 236 tackles, six-and-a-half sacks, one forced fumble, one fumble recovery and an interception throughout his three-year career at the University of Tennessee.
