The Patriots put the finishing touches on their offense as on Tuesday they signed wide receiver Jabar Gaffney to a one-year, $2 million contract, according to NFL Network; the signing pretty much solidifies the Pats’ offense, despite the departure of WR Donte Stallworth, as last season, Gaffney replaced Stallworth as the #3 WR.  You can probably expect a WR corps of Randy Moss, Wes Welker, Gaffney and either Kelley Washington or Chad Jackson to battle for time at the #4 WR spot.

Interestingly enough, the Patriots had another WR in their sights ahead of Gaffney - former Miami Dolphins WR Marty Booker; what took Booker out of the mix was that the Patriots gave Booker a deadline to choose between them and the Chicago Bears.  Booker chose the Bears; that decision hastened the signing of Gaffney.
