Patriots Sign Webster

Suddenly depeleted in their secondary, the New England Patriots on Tuesday signed cornerback Jason Webster; the eight-year veteran was a 2nd-round pick of the San Francisco 49ers in 2000 and played 4 years with them before signing with the Atlanta Falcons, where he played for 3 years. He played in only 1 game for the Buffalo Bills last season, where he was sidelined and placed on the reserve/injured list with an arm injury; Webster, in his career, has 393 tackles and 11 interceptions in 87 career games – 74 of them starts.
