Philadelphia Eagles quarterback AJ Feeley had himself a monster game, unfortunately for the Eagles so did New England Patriot corner back Asante Samuel. With Philadelphia down only three and charging down the field Samuel intercepted a Feeley pass in the endzone effectively ending the game. The Patriots won their closest game of the year by far defeating the Eagles 31-28 Sunday night. The Eagles had one last chance as they got the ball back with 19 seconds left, but Feeley threw another pick as Pats’ strong safety James Sanders caught a desperation heave to end the game.

Defense won this game for the Patriots. New England certainly did not look like the offensive juggernaut they had been in previous contests. Samuel, in a post game interview said the Patriots in his mind played terrible. But Samuel with two interceptions The first one in the first quarter resulting in a TD, as well as Sanders on the game’s final play (New England quarterback Tom Brady took a knee to run out the clock) were enough to get New England the victory.

Feeley was at times spectacular, and at times awful in this game. Put in as the replacement for an injured Donovan McNabb, Feeley went 27/42 for a total of 345 yards, with 3 touchdowns and those costly three interceptions. Philadelphia led in this contest 28-24 until the 7:20 mark of the fourth when New England running back Laurence Maroney ran into the endzone for the game winning touchdown. After Steve Gostkowski, extra point kick sailed through the uprights the Patriots led 31-28.

For what ever reason whether it was the swarming defense the Eagles used against New England, or it was just one of those nights, Brady never really seemed like he was in sync. Brady went 34/54 for 380 yards but only one touchdown a pass to wide receiver Jabar Gaffney in the waning seconds of the third quarter. He certainly did not look like the Brady who was on pace up until this game to smash Peyton Manning’s single season record for TD’s, in this game.

The Patriots remain the only unbeaten team in the NFL as they now sit at 11-0, they will take on the Ravens next Monday night, the Eagles drop to 5-6.
