Brady’s Approach to Arm Fatigue – Taking it Easy

Brady

Quarterback Tom Brady is getting ready for what should be a Super Bowl run this season for his team by simply taking it easy. Brady, who just turned 30, is taking it down a notch, and according to Thursday’s Boston Herald will be limiting his throws in practice this season to make sure that come gameday he will be as close to 100 percent as possible. Last season Brady missed some practices as well as wore a neoprene sleeve to combat aging and fatigue on his arm.

The all-world QB didn’t practice Wednesday, and on Tuesday threw 59 passes, 10 less than backup QB Matt Cassel. He also had his forearm massaged during drills. “One thing I’m doing that’s a little bit different is I’m really monitoring my throws in the preseason,” Brady said. “Before I’d come out and I’d throw 100 balls a day, and after a while you throw 100 balls every practice, and it’s 200 balls a day in two-a-days and you go, “Gosh, after four days why is my arm sore'” Well, think about what major league baseball pitchers do – throw 100 pitches and take five days off.”

Brady has been a warrior since taking over the QB job full-time for the Pats during their first Super Bowl run. He has not missed a start since the 2001 season, and with a reloaded team that many think are going to make a deep run into the playoffs and possibly Super Bowl, they for sure don’t want a tired arm to be the reason behind why he would be forced to miss a game in 2007.
